A brief update, while I mull over what I want to write a lengthier post about...
Dad is doing fine. The surgery went well, and he was able to go home on Thursday evening. He is now resting comfortably (okay, as comfortably as he can) at home.
Thanks to all of you that offered your good thoughts for him (and me).
